The KPop Demon Hunters Series Floats to Take Center Stage at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

With the Thanksgiving holiday just around the corner, the lineup of balloons for the 99th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has been unveiled. Enthusiasts of the animated hit KPop Demon Hunters have a special reason to celebrate, as fan-favorite mascots Derpy Tiger and Sussie are set to appear as giant balloons.

The parade is held annually in New York City, showcasing a diverse array of balloons from various pop-culture franchises. Previous appearances have included characters ranging from SpongeBob SquarePants and Scooby-Doo to anime favorites like Dragon Ball and One Piece.

Introducing the Characters: Derpy Tiger and Sussie

Derpy Tiger and Sussie are featured in the hit animated show KPop Demon Hunters. Within the series' plot, Huntr/x is a K-pop girl group by day and a squad of supernatural hunters by night, harnessing their musical power to repair the Honmoon and protect the human world from demonic threats. Much like Huntr/x and the Saja Boys, Derpy and Sussie have gained a massive following of viewers everywhere and are expected to be a standout attraction for audiences of all ages during the parade.

An Incredible Year for KPop Demon Hunters

One could easily claim that 2025 has been the year of KPop Demon Hunters. The Sony Animation production has soared to the top as the top-viewed movie on the streaming platform, earned five nominations at the Grammys, and the singing stars behind Huntr/x—Rumi, Mira, and Zoey's voice actors—recently performed on a popular television program, presenting a breathtaking spectacular act.

Adding to the excitement, Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami are also scheduled to perform live during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Viewers can anticipate a potentially "Golden" performance from the group.

What's Next for the Franchise?

An upcoming sequel, KPop Demon Hunters 2, is reportedly in development, with a potential release in 2029. Although fans will have to be patient, the immense popularity for the first movie indicates that audiences are eager for a follow-up worthy of the first installment. In the meantime, fans can enjoy the incredible Derpy and Sussie balloons at the upcoming Thanksgiving parade.
