“That was unfortunate. It was kind of an exchange with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones stated during a radio appearance. “Present was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The entire stadium was filled with excitement for the Cowboys.”
He further emphasized that the gesture was entirely unintentional, happening amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I just put up the incorrect digit,” he noted. “It was inadvertently done. I’m not kidding. Should you call it accidental, you can. But it got resolved rapidly.”
